Mai, noch einmal schreibt man in Saudi-Arabien Raumfahrtgeschichte: Fast 40 Jahre nach der Spaceshuttle-Mission des heutigen Raumfahrtministers Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud starten die n\u00e4chsten Saudis in die Umlaufbahn, diesmal ist die Internationale Raumstation ISS das Ziel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ali AlQarni und Rayyanah Barnawi aus Saudi-Arabien sind als Missions-Spezialisten Teil der Weltraummission Ax-2 von Axiom Space, deren Start f\u00fcr 23:37 deutscher Zeit vom Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral geplant ist \u2013 \u00fcbrigens von der geschichtstr\u00e4chtigen Startrampe 39A. Das ist der Ort, an dem die Nasa ihre bemannten Apollo-Mondmissionen gestartet hat. Rayyanah Barnawi, eine Zellbiologin und Krebsforscherin, wird die erste muslimische und erste saudische Frau sein, die als Forscherin und damit als &#8222;echte&#8220; Astronautin in den Weltraum startet. Sie reiht sich ein in die noch kleine Gruppe internationaler Raumfahrerinnen. Wir haben auf  <span class=\"cnvs-badge is-cnvs-badge-color-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/saudimag.de\/?p=4909\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"4909\">#SaudiMag<\/a><\/span> \u00fcber sie berichtet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ziel der Mission Ax-2 ist die Durchf\u00fchrung einer Reihe von biologischen und medizinischen Experimenten im ESA-Weltraumlabor &#8222;Columbus&#8220;, einem der Wissenschafts-Module der Raumstation ISS. Sie wird exakt berechnet, um die Rakete in einer idealen Flugbahn zur Raumstation ISS zu senden. Peggy Whitson ist die erfahrenste Astronautin der Welt. W\u00e4hrend ihrer rekordverd\u00e4chtigen, 37j\u00e4hrigen Weltraumkarriere nahm sie an drei Langzeit-Raumfl\u00fcgen der Nasa teil und verbrachte insgesamt 665 Tage im All &#8211; mehr als jeder andere Mensch.
